As January comes to a close and winter carries on for yet another month, I’ve decided to take this opportunity to share with you 5 ways to wear Marsala, the Pantone colour of the year, into your beauty and style routine.
Seriously, who else loves Marsala as much as I do? For rEaLz guys, this colour is ah-mazing! As a warm and earthy reddish-brown hue, Marsala really is suited to just about any and all skin types. I love its richness and ultra sophisticated (but not snobby) vibe.
It also pairs surprisingly well with other colours – check out Pantone’s rundown of Marsala colour pairings for some outfit/makeup/whatever inspo. In fact, you may even be surprised by the amount of Marsala you already own (at least I was).
Now, let’s get to it!
A polish is probably one of the easiest ways to incorporate Marsala into your beauty routine. It’s a relatively neutral colour so there’s no need to worry about clashing your nails with your outfit (or maybe I’m the only who worries about that…)
Check out Essie’s ‘angora cardi’.
Since Marsala is quite neutral (without being boring), it’s suited to just about any skin tone. A Marsala-hued lippie is yet another easy way to work this hearty colour into your beauty routine.
Be it a skirt or in this case trousers (which I can rarely, if ever, say no to), working Marsala into your wardrobe isn’t too difficult. Who doesn’t love a good coloured pant without having to worry too strenuously about complementary shirt/sweater pairings?
Check out these H&M trousers.
Alright, let’s say you’re not a huge fan of Marsala but want to work it into your look without all of the commitment that comes with a polish, lipstick or pants. Well, a purse is the perfect solution to your ‘dilemma’, dear friend. As soon as you grow weary of the colour, simply toss it aside!
Forever 21’s quilted crossbody is super stylish and, of course, it’s Marsala!
Necklaces, bracelets, rings (you name it) also make a great way to incorporate Marsala into your style routine. What I love about this ALDO necklace in particular is it’s glossy finish – it really creates an understated elegance without being all that flashy.
How will you rock Marsala in 2015?
