When spring gives you snow and below seasonal temperatures, an early spring outfit is what it’s all about. While the world currently has a hard-on for Coachella and festival fashion (I mean, could it be any more in my face?), thus far I’ve been vibin’ by way of a striped cardigan, soft pants and booties, mmmkay.
But let’s talk basics. This blouse, also featured in Winter to Spring: A Transitional Outfit, is my ride or die garment at the moment. Like a white tee, a white blouse is a wardrobe staple and one that pairs particularly well with an early spring outfit.
My point? When deciding what shirt to wear beneath this insanely gorgeous striped cardie from H&M’s spring 2016 collection, I knew I wanted to go beyond the basic tank or tee and felt that this blouse would allow me to do just that. For an added touch of somethin’ somethin’ I popped the collar (’cause fashion, duh).
The relatively neutral colour palette of this cardigan really allows me to pair it with any other warm hued or achromatic garment. That being said, I opted for Dynamite’s black Sacha soft pant because they’re outrageously comfy and so well-suited to an early spring outfit. In fact, I intend to purchase another pair (in a different colour) in the very near future – yep, they really are that amazing.
But cue these transitional booties from Call It Spring’s FW14 collection. Footwear really can make all the difference in pulling together an outfit. Fun fact: I waddled through soggy turf only minutes before this snap was taken and very nearly had a tantrum when I discovered that they were rimmed with mud!
Groans and teary eyes aside, there’s nothing quite like when a frigid breeze catches your cardigan and simultaneously freezes your digits to an uncomfortable degree of numbness.
Speaking of fingers, lo and behold this stunning ring set from odette + ophelia.
If footwear can pull together an outfit, then accessories can take an outfit from hot to haute, ya feel? This ring set is a fave of mine – I find the mixed metals and bezels very complementary to one another.
And this Skylar Stone necklace? Girrrl you know I’m all about boho-inspired jewellery and pastels to boot. If you’re loving these pieces as much as I do (or anything else on the site) use “NAT15” for 15% off your purchase.
