I’ve always maintained that New Yorkers are in a league of their own. This city and its occupants are marked by a hardness that’s as endearing as it is frightening. A “New York state of mind” does indeed exist, and in the 10 months I’ve inhabited this city I’ve come to understand exactly what this means. Yet, there’s something inexplicably pleasant about New York and all of its eight million (and counting) occupants. Maybe it’s the turn of the season that has me on a high but, then again, sunny skies and brisk temps tend to have that affect on me – and apparently, the rest of New York too.
In complete, weather-appropriate fashion, I spent my weekend casually clad in my denim jacket (also featured here), an embellished white tee and thrifted sneakers. I mean, can you think of anything that better defines an early spring ootd than the above? I think not, dear reader, I think not.
When it comes to accessorizing an early spring ootd (or any outfit, tbh), I love to a waist-wrapped plaid and pins. In fact, I’ve recently come to adopt a love of enamel pins and buttons as accessory musts (delicate jewellery totally falls into this category too). Add to that an oversized watch and we’re talkin’ an Insta-worthy mo.
