With spring around the corner I’m beginning to itch for warmer weather and longer days…

But of course who really cares about what I want because, in Canada, the winter season is drawn out typically far longer than is desired (which really isn’t the worst thing either because I love to snowboard)! But in terms of fashion, mediating winter and spring styles can sometimes prove challenging.

I picked up these floral pants from Target (oh Target, how I shall miss thee) and immediately started thinking “how to wear floral in winter…”

Lo and behold, coupling a floral pattern with dark colours and, in this case, a faux fur vest along with booties (whether heels or not), is a great way to incorporate a little touch of spring into your winter wardrobe. To balance the darker, neutral colours of my upper half I opted for a tangerine lip. Come the new season, I will certainly be rocking these pants sans winter wear – I envision minimalist, open-toe heels with a brightly coloured tank or tee (possibly with a complementary pattern as well) and accessories galore.

With Valentine’s Day only a few days away I also think this would make a sweet outfit if you’re not into the whole red and rose pink getups (which I love, minus the rose pink – the colour looks awful on me).

On a lighter note, a special thanks to my photographer – and boyfriend (who was my boyfriend before he became my photographer, as an FYI) – John Hibionada, who also took photos for my post 1 scarf, 3 ways to wear it. Pictured above is his car that sadly got stuck in the snow upon parking for this shoot. I thought I’d be cool/cute/funny taking photos with his stuck vehicle.
