While I may willfully ignore the inevitable fact that, yes, my skin will in time lose it’s youthfulness, there is a small part of me that recognizes the benefit in taking preventative measures to ensure my skin maintains a certain degree of, ahem, healthiness. Even when I set aside the whole aging factor and consider instead the daily stress through which I put my skin,  I have to admit that the experts have the right of it – skincare is key!

When Rodan + Fields reached out to me to sample some of their most popular products, I knew I couldn’t say no – well, that’s not entirely true. In reality, I did some research on the brand which is what eventually led me to say yes (coupled with the fact that Rodan + Fields consultant Jennifer Kohls proved very lovely via email) to sampling their Enhancements Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, Redefine Night Renewing Serum and Redefine Lip Renewing Serum.

While Rodan + Fields is well-established in the U.S., it’s only beginning to bud in Canada however after sampling their products I’m certain that in no time at all the skincare brand will become a household name. An FYI, the dermatologists a.k.a creators of Rodan + Fields (Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields) are the same creators of Proactiv Solution.

The Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, which is essentially an exfoliant, is applied in the A.M. on dry skin 1-3 times a week. I will say that, upon my second use, I did find my skin to be somewhat sensitive so – as instructed – I added a bit of water to make for gentler exfoliation. Within two uses I did indeed see a more even skin tone and texture – namely less redness around my nose area (super helpful to avoid using so much concealer *lolz*). The Night Renewing Serum (the little blue gels pictured above) and Lip Renewing Serum (the even smaller silver gels pictured above) are then applied in the P.M. after cleansing and toning. With my oily/combination skin I have to admit I was somewhat fearful of applying a serum to my skin but – yes, but – my skin was left so smooth and non-greasy sans blotting papers I’ve got to say these are like little gels of epidermal joy!

I suppose only time will tell as to whether my skin maintains its youthfulness but in the meantime I certainly feel good about using products from which I’ve received positive results thus far.

Check out Rodan + Fields for yourself, they have a couple of product lines each tailored to specific skincare needs.
