Mary Kay TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C and Mary Kay TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares

In recent months I’ve shifted my attention away from makeup to instead focus on skin care. I meannn, skin first, right?

Right.

The truth, as I alluded to in my previous beauty post (re: Rice Powder Exfoliant | DIY), I’ve been managing temperamental skin for some time. Frequent breakouts à la cystic zits, dry patches and blemishes have plagued me for the past year. And while I do fault my IUD from time to time, I know that hormones are only in part to blame.

Needless to say, while I luvvv testing new products, I’ve become a little more conservative when it comes to trying out those ~new new~ skin care products – Mary Kay’s TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C and TimeWise Viamin C Activating Squares included.

The serum

I was in the midst of a breakout when I began using this product a couple of weeks ago, but I haven’t experienced a surge in pimple production since, so I’d say the TimeWise Replenishing Serum+C lives up to its claims of being non-comedogenic.

It’s also lightweight and fast-absorbing – total pluses when it comes to my combo skin.

Just three pumps both morning and night promises firmer, lifted skin. Like all skin care products, however, results are yielded only with habitual, long-term use (at least in my experience). That said, my skin does look slightly smoother since beginning to use the serum.

The squares

Okay, here comes the fun part! The TimeWise Vitamin C Activating Squares promise to supercharge your serum with a boost of vitamin C. Just a couple drops of water to dissolve the square followed by three pumps of serum makes this product not only fun to use, but easy to use too.

In fact, I’ve been using it three times a week as suggested and much like the serum, I know it’ll take some time for me to truly see results. When using the serum (either on its own or with the squares) I do like concentrating it around my eye area and forehead – in other words, those wrinkly spots (ahem).

This product was provided to me by Mary Kay for editorial consideration. As always, all opinions written here are honest and my own.
