Oh spring, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…beginning with the Quo Prismatic Collection for spring 2016. Available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart, if not you’re already familiar with Quo, it’s high time you give ‘er a go.
There’s never a shortage of colour in spring. The same can be said of the Quo Prismatic Collection. For starters, the packaging is next-level hypnotic. I love the use of bright, swirly hues – it’s fun, playful and certainly says all things spring.
Prismatic Eye Palette: Intergalactic ($18 CAD)
The collection begins with one of three eye shadow palettes. As you may or may not know, it’s all about blue eye shadow this spring and while it’s at times a cringe-worthy colour (at least when it comes to eye shadow – re: Mimi Bobeck), Quo has done an awesome job at balancing this cool-hued palette with complementary colours.
I’m quite pleased with the colour payoff of this palette. The range is really quite versatile, too. As you can see, the blues are really quite soft and certainly suitable for everyday use (although I’m a bigger fan of the Infinity eye shadow palette below).
Prismatic Eye Palette: Infinity ($18 CAD)
If you’re partial to warmer hues (like me) then the Infinity eye shadow palette is all that and then some. I love the range and depth of each colour, however I would have liked to see a little more pigmentation.
A couple of layers are needed to achieve maximum colour payoff, though once done the results are really quite stunning.
Prismatic Face Palette: Stardust ($18 CAD)
My favourite item in the Quo Prismatic Collection, however, has to be the Stardust face palette. As you can see, I couldn’t resist dipping into this palette almost immediately. I’ve got nothing but mad love for this blush/highlight/bronzer trio.
Although, with my skin tone, the bronzer is better suited as a highlight, I admire it nonetheless. All three of these shades apply so smoothly and effortlessly and, yes, on more than one occasion have I had a friend point out my fleeky af cheekbones, mmmkay.
I mean, just look at all three of these uh-mazing shades. Can I get amen?
Prismatic Brow Kit ($12 CAD)
But no face is complete with on fleek brows – and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Aside from its ultra convenient packaging, the Prismatic Brow Kit’s colour range is pretty standard, I’d say.
While the lighter shade doesn’t do much for me on its own, I like to mix it with the darker shade when simply looking to add fullness and shape. Otherwise, I stick to the dark shade when filling in sparse areas of my brows. The Prismatic Brow Kit features a brow gel, too, which I use my pinky finger to apply.
All in all, the Quo Prismatic Collection offers some seriously stunning shades and, not to mention, versatility, too – all at an affordable price point.
Until next time!
