All day long I dream about volume – voluminous hair, that is. Throughout my single digit and teen years I sought to tame my naturally voluminous hair with any and every smoothing product at my disposal. Now that I’m older (and just a little bit wiser) I’ve learned to embrace my full (and sometimes fearsome) locks.
If you crave volume, meet the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System: condition first, shampoo second. If this seems counter intuitive, consider the following: conditioner can sometimes weigh down hair, resulting in a flat, lackluster mane.
The TRESemmé Reverse System begins with the Beauty-Full Pre-Wash Conditioner. The formula includes fleximax volumizers and fiber polishing actives, which is just a whole lot of fancy talk for ingredients that bind the hair cuticle to leave it soft and smooth. The result? In my experience, a few pumps (the amount you use will be dependent upon the natural thickness of your hair) leaves my locks silky and polished without weighing ’em down – in fact, my hair slurps it right on up.
Following step one is step two (naturally, of course). The TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo is creamy and, in a way, conditioning all on its own. It helps to control static and tames flyaways. In all honesty, this is a great product – it applies like a dream and rinses like one, too. My only contention (why TRESemmé, why!) is that it contains SLS and sulfates. For this reason alone this is not a product I would typically use on a regular basis. Le sighhh.
Following step one and two is the Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximizer.
Used in damp hair, this product adds volume as well as flexibility and it softens, too. It’s worth noting that a little bit goes a long way – in fact, less is more with the Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximizer.
Overall, the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System leaves my hair light as a feather and, because of this, certainly more voluminous, too. Seen below are day-after results.
I’d say this product is best for those with fine hair, however. I can certainly see the benefit of using a reverse wash system if texture and volume are lacking. In my case, however, I’ve got a lot of both all on my own (thanks mom!)
