Spring is in full swing (can I get an amen?) and, while I’m not typically beholden to seasonally appropriate shades, the Visage Spring ’16 Bloom Collection is giving me all the feels. Just as with my wardrobe, I welcome the winter to spring transition in my makeup routine as well. While for me this typically means fewer layers of makeup, I must admit that I’ve taken to the ultra-fem hues that characterize the Visage Spring ’16 Bloom Collection quite well.
Inspired by flora and fauna, organic landscapes and nature’s colour palette, the collection embodies spring’s softer, feminine side. From powder eye shadows to blushes, lipsticks and glosses it’s all about that ~spring-gasmic~ factor with this latest colour collection from Visage.
Not surprisingly, rosy cheeks encapsulate spring to the T. The same can be said of this silky powder blush in the shade Rose Garden (the name alone is enough to make me want to run through soggy, not-yet-in-bloom meadows). The blush is so finely milled (triple-milled, in fact) that it blends like a dream and provides a long-wearing finish (even on my oily/combo skin!) The formula also includes vitamins a, c and e – it’s paraben-free, too!
From top to bottom is Buttercup, a light buttercream (mmm) with a matte finish, Hydrangea, a soft, sea green-blue/gold with a pearlescent finish and Sweet Pea, a pinky peach with a metallic finish. Formulated with orchid flower extract and vitamin e to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, these paraben-free, gluten-free and vegan eye shadows deliver smize-worthy eyes. I especially love Hydrangea – while a green-blue at first glance, upon application and in natural light its gooold, baby.
From top to bottom is Rose Garden, Sweet Pea, Buttercup and Hydrangea – in natural light, you can see how soft and subdued these shades are, making them so very characteristically spring.
Like the powders in the Visage Spring ’16 Bloom Collection, this lipstick also speaks to the soft, pinky tones that we all so love for spring. Shea butter and avocado oil combine to provide a paraben and gluten-free lippie that’s simply indulgent and anything but drying.
Pictured here is the shade Morning Dew. While I typically hold off on using a lipstick until I take photos (I know, my self-control is unreal, right?) I couldn’t resist swatching this shade immediately. It’s a rosy pink with a cream/matte finish but it’s totally wearable as a neutral, everyday shade.
No spring makeup collection is complete, however, without a gloss (or four) to really make dem lips pop. While the matte lip continues to reign king (or, rather, queen) springtime calls for glossed-up glam. The formula includes vitamin e and it’s paraben-free, gluten-free and vegan.
Pictured here is the shade Romance – a coral pink with a gold shimmer in a pearlescent finish. I’ll admit, upon first glance I wasn’t all too impressed with the shade – it reminded me a little too well of my Barbie-wannbe days. As it were, upon a few uses of this gloss I must say I find the shade to be very complementary to my skin tone. That and it glides on like a dream, yet is tacky enough to withstand casual coffee drinking.
From top to bottom are Morning Dew and Romance. Again, the pinky tones really speak to the season.
