With fall officially underway, I’ve at last transitioned to all things autumn approved. Included in this is Caryl Baker Visage’s fall makeup collection: Ritual Beauty. Inspired by the fall 2015 runway, the collection is comprised of rich and bold hues that encapsulate the fall colour spectrum to a T. I’ve swatched some of my favourite shades from the collection below because, as you know, that’s just how I do.
All eye shadows and blushes in the collection are paraben and gluten free as well as vegan and are made with mango seed butter and vitamin E for a creamy texture that provides easy glide-on and awesome staying power.
Ritual Beauty Blush Exotic | $22.50 CAD
Exotic is a semi-sheer, matte plum blush that glides on smooth and stays all day (even with my oily/combination skin!) Seen here is three coats of the stuff; it’s very easy to build and never cakes.
Ritual Beauty Eye Shadow Henna | $18 CAD
This mid-tone brown makes a great crease colour for the fall and with its matte finish it’s an ideal day-to-day shade. Like the blush, it glides on smooth and stays put; it’s a colour that in itself captures fall so very well.
Ritual Beauty Eye Shadow Gypsy | $18 CAD
Gypsy is a rich shade of cranberry with a metallic finish – it really is the stunner in the collection, I’d say. Seen here is just one swipe – it’s that pigmented!
Ritual Beauty Eye Shadow Mirage | $18 CAD
This is such a unique colour I’m so very glad has been included in Visage’s fall makeup collection. Its metallic finish makes it yet another show-stopper and with its bluish navy hue its definitely a keeper.
I will say that while the blush and eyeshadows themselves are spectacular, the packaging leaves a little to be desired – for the first few uses it’s pretty stiff, so I’d suggest using some caution lest your nails scuff or chip!
Conversely, Visage’s lipstick packaging is some kind of wonderful. With its snap-closure design and built-in mirror, it’s my all-time fave. The lipsticks in Visage’s fall makeup collection are made with both shea butter and avocado oil and they’re paraben-free as well as gluten-free.
Ritual Beauty Lipstick Desert Rose | $18
Desert Rose is the ultimate day-to-day shade. It’s a semi-sheer rosy pink with a glossy finish that’s slightly understated and oh so demure. In terms of staying power, I get a solid three to four hours before needing to reapply.
Ritual Beauty Lipstick Artisan | $18 CAD
I absolutely love this rich, semi-glossy wine shade. It adds that perfect measure of a drama to your look and has a blue undertone making it an ideal colour for just about any skin tone and dem pearly whites.
MaxLash Mascara | $24.60 CAD
If there’s one makeup product I can’t live without, it’s mascara. Hypoallergenic, paraben-free and gluten-free, Visage’s MaxLash is a 4-in-1 lengthening, curling, defining, all-day wear waterproof mascara that helps to fortify, condition and strengthen lashes.
In a nutshell, this mascara is kind of everything. With its curvy design, soft bristles and non-clumping formula Visage’s MaxLash has to be one of my all time top five favourite mascaras. It’s not overly wet when new (a pet peeve of mine with most other mascaras) and is easy to build.
Overall, I’m enamoured of Visage’s fall makeup collection and certainly can’t wait to celebrate the season with these hues. How are you phasing fall into your makeup routine?
