What makes blogging especially fun is exploring the city whilst shooting. Not only does it provide me with a healthy reason to leave my neighbourhood on weekends (New Yorkers will know this to be a serious feat) but it also provides me an excuse to put on pants (weekenders will know this to be a serious feat, tee hee).
This particular day was spent exploring the quaint, up-and-coming neighbourhood of Astoria, Queens. It’s one of the first times I’ve explored this side of town and I have to admit I was quickly captivated by its charm (and its graffiti, too). There’s something so intrinsically characteristic about graffiti walls in the outer boroughs, just as there’s something about cute patterns and cuter silhouettes that are intrinsically characteristic of spring.
When it comes to a workwear outfit, polka dots (or any pattern, really), whimsical earrings and sock-free shoes always fit the bill. Oh, and denim too. K fineee, denim is more like an all-season staple (check out how I styled these jeans with a white tee and sleeveless blazer here) buttt I love ’em for springtime nonetheless. Also fitting of a workwear outfit is a structured bag. Confession: I dislike purses, but I carry a ton of s**t so somehow they’re always necessary *le sigh*.
